Woman jumps out of moving e-hailing car to escape ‘staring’ driver

Police say a passing motorcyclist took the 25-year-old, who suffered minor injuries, to a nearby clinic in Klang.

A 25-year-old woman jumped out of a moving e-hailing car after she sensed that the driver was watching her.

Police said the incident occurred yesterday evening near Taman Eng Ann in Klang, Bernama reported.

The woman, who was in the back seat with another passenger, became scared when she noticed that the driver was looking at her through the rear-view mirror, said Klang Utara district police chief S Vijaya Rao.

She opened the door and jumped out, he said, and was helped by a passing motorcyclist who took her to a nearby clinic.

Rao said she sustained only minor injuries.

He said the 47-year-old driver lodged a police report.

The case is being investigated under Section 336 of the Penal Code for acting rashly or negligently so as to endanger human life or personal safety.
