Police have classified a foreign woman’s report over a misunderstanding with a fellow tourist in George Town, Penang, as requiring no further action (NFA).

Timur Laut police chief Rozak Muhammad said the 33-year-old tourist lodged her report at the Jalan Patani station at 3.45am today.

He said the woman claimed she had a misunderstanding with a male friend from the same country at Persiaran Karpal Singh at about 12.30am.

The misunderstanding was resolved by friends of both parties after they went to the police station, and the case was marked as NFA and closed after a brief investigation.

Rozak said the woman forgave the suspect after he apologised and did not wish to pursue the matter.
