An MACC source told FMT these were all “new witnesses” in the investigation.
MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki previously said 31 witnesses had been questioned in the case so far, “at least two to three” of whom were politicians.
Last Friday, MACC officials interviewed the doctor treating Ismail to determine his health condition and whether it is serious enough to warrant the repeated medical certificates he has been issued.
Ismail, who was questioned by MACC on Feb 19, collapsed at home on Feb 22 and was hospitalised for blood pressure-related problems.
The Bera MP was initially set to provide statements at the MACC’s headquarters in Putrajaya on March 5, but the meeting had to be pushed to March 7 after he was issued with a medical certificate.
An MACC source told FMT Ismail’s medical certificate runs until March 12, and he will be questioned on March 13.
Azam previously said Ismail was being called in as a suspect in the investigation into four senior officers linked to him.
MACC said about RM170 million in cash and 16kg of gold bars worth millions of ringgit had been seized in raids conducted at the residences of the four officers and three other premises believed to be “safe houses”.
According to Azam, 13 bank accounts holding about RM2 million had also been frozen.
