New firm aims to shake up Malaysia’s audit, advisory scene

PETALING JAYA:
MGI MR, a newly launched boutique services firm, officially opened its doors today, seeking to transform how Malaysian businesses approach audit, tax and advisory services.

MGI MR’s founding team brings over 150 years of combined partner experience and operates with a mix of local knowledge and global expertise.

The firm is also part of MGI Worldwide, a network spanning more than 100 countries and 8,000 professionals, giving it international reach.

MGI MR executive partner Jeyaraj Ratnaswamy said this global connection enables the firm to offer enhanced value and more comprehensive services to its clients.

“We are equally proud to be part of a global network of independent firms, united by a shared commitment to quality, collaboration, and client service,” he said in his opening remarks at the launch event today.

Beyond client services, MGI MR also aims to become a thought leadership platform, offering insights to help businesses navigate regulatory change, industry shifts, and emerging risks.

“We’re not just another firm. We’re redefining how professional services are delivered in Malaysia,” managing director Ralph Ratnaswamy said in a statement.

“With deep local roots and global standards, we help clients thrive by bringing structure, strategy, and integrity to every engagement.”

Meanwhile, chairman Mahathir Mahzan said MGI MR will be offering services that are “the best of both worlds”.

“We’re bringing global best practices to local businesses while remaining agile, personal, and responsive,” he said.
