PETALING JAYA: The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) will be allocated RM460 million next year to ensure its preparedness for disasters.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said some of these funds will be spent on adding toilets with clean running water in temporary relief centres.
“These facilities can be used by school students at any time,” he said in tabling the 2026 budget.
The government will also allocate RM210 million for the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to develop early warning systems in the event of disasters.
This will reduce the risks posed to lives and assets, he added.
