PETALING JAYA: The government will make RM50 billion in loans and guarantees available next year to support local entrepreneurs.
When tabling the 2026 budget today, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said this includes RM2.5 billion in microfinancing, provided through Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) and TEKUN Nasional.
“The government guarantee ceiling under Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan (SJPP) will be increased to RM30 billion, up from RM20 billion.
“In addition to supporting companies in high-value sectors, SJPP’s scope will be expanded to include micro-entrepreneurs,” he said.
He added that the Malaysian Cooperative Commission will also receive RM50 million in financing to support cooperative enterprises nationwide.
