PETALING JAYA:
The body of a construction site manager found in Sungai Kandis, Shah Alam this morning had floated 65km from where floodwaters washed him away near Saloma Link on Sungai Klang on Monday, say police.

Dang Wangi police chief Sazalee Adam said the body of K Suresh, 37, was recovered after rescuers widened their search radius by 36km today.

He said Suresh was identified by family members and also by a tattoo of his name on his right arm.

“The body was sent to Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem. It will be handed over to the family tomorrow after the autopsy is completed,” Kosmo reported him as saying.

Earlier today, the fire and rescue department said a team from Shah Alam extricated the body from a rubbish trap in Sungai Kandis after receiving a call.

It was reported that Suresh had been washed away in his SUV by floodwaters under Saloma Link at about 5.40pm on Monday.

Firefighters managed to rescue 11 other construction workers in the incident.

The SUV was found yesterday morning about 1.5km away from Saloma Link.
