Kuala Lumpur police chief Fadil Marsus also said the entertainment centre was vandalised in retaliation, but did not provide further details.
He said 45 suspects, including two students, were arrested in a sting operation yesterday. Those detained are aged between 14 and 57.
Fadil told a press conference police are looking into the possibility the entertainment centre’s owner might have hired secret society members to protect the business.
He also said police were tracking down several other suspects.
On Sunday, police said they were investigating an incident in which a group of men was believed to have vandalised the entertainment centre.
The suspects, wearing masks, allegedly rammed a lorry through the outlet’s gate, broke into the premises and destroyed several items.
Police are investigating the case under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief and Section 148 for rioting while armed.
Fadil said they had applied for the suspects to be remanded.
