PETALING JAYA:
A 19-year-old Sarawakian student pleaded guilty in the Kuching sessions court today to possessing, selling and distributing child pornography.

The plea was recorded before judge Iris Awen Jon after an interpreter read the charges to the accused, framed under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017,  Dayak Daily reported.

The accused, from Bau, also admitted to a second charge under the same Act of accessing child pornography.

No bail was offered as the offences are non-bailable.

The court set May 12 for mention pending a report from the social welfare department.

Deputy public prosecutor Asmawi Nur Haqim Mokhtar appeared for the prosecution, while the student was unrepresented.
