On Monday, corporal Sukry Tasu, 37, claimed trial to seven charges of assaulting army personnel at the 25th Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment camp last month.
Sukry was charged with causing grievous hurt to Amirul and six others — Atiqillah Taugek Rashidi, 21; Syakirin Yaacob, 20; Azman Shah Ismail, 22; Nik Amir Zaqwan Nik Asrizal, 19; Irfan Aiman Tajudin, 19; and Danial Asraf Azizan, 22.
Bentong police chief Zaiham Kahar previously said the corporal had allegedly punched and kicked Amirul in various parts of the body.
The armed forces said a preliminary investigation found that the non-commissioned officer had used physical force after being dissatisfied with the way the soldiers had cleaned the weapons store.
