
The special aircraft carrying Albanese and his delegation landed at the air force base here at 5.15pm. They were received by natural resources and environmental sustainability minister Arthur Joseph Kurup.
Tomorrow, Albanese will be accorded an official welcoming ceremony in Putrajaya, followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and a bilateral meeting involving senior ministers and officials from both countries.
Both leaders are expected to discuss the conflict in the Middle East and cooperation in ensuring energy and supply chain security, while also focussing on maintaining the steady flow of essential supplies, including fuel, amid evolving global economic and geopolitical challenges.
Both leaders are also scheduled to witness the exchange of memoranda of understanding covering areas of mutual interest before holding a joint press conference to announce the outcome of discussions.
Australia was Malaysia’s 12th largest trading partner in 2025, with total bilateral trade valued at RM78.63 billion last year.
