Flash floods, fallen trees as thunderstorm wreaks havoc

Various parts of the Klang Valley were hit by flash floods after a thunderstorm this evening.

Flash floods and fallen trees were reported in various parts of the Klang Valley after a thunderstorm wreaked havoc this evening, worsening peak hour traffic congestion.

Astro Audio Traffic reported on X that flash floods near the New Klang Valley Expressway’s Sungai Buloh exit led to standstill traffic in both directions as of 5.55pm.

Netizens are reported flash floods in parts of Shah Alam, particularly Section 13.

Fallen trees were also reported at Jalan Ampang and Jalan Nagasari in Kuala Lumpur at about 4pm. According to Astro Audio Traffic, several cars were damaged at Jalan Nagasari.

Separately, the Selangor fire and rescue department said fallen  branches blocked off Jalan Prima Selayang 7 at Batu Caves at about 4.20pm.

Four vehicles were reported to be slightly damaged.
