PETALING JAYA: A man who was seen walking in the nude along Lebuh Bukit Jambul in Bayan Lepas, Penang, last week has been referred to Penang Hospital’s psychiatric ward by the police.
Timur Laut deputy police chief Lee Swee Sake said a report on the incident was lodged on Thursday morning, with policemen and paramedics deployed to attend to the man, who was reportedly mentally unsound.
The naked man was found in the middle of the road and detained with the help of paramedics. He was then brought to Penang Hospital, escorted by police personnel.
“Since the man did not have any identification documents, the police and hospital are working to identify him and track his next of kin,” Lee said in a statement.
