Jamal Yunos said Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah had called for a complete end to pig farming in the state.
“She can get out of Selangor if she does not want to accede to the Selangor sultan’s wishes,” the Selangor BN communications director said in a statement.
In February, Sultan Sharafuddin called for a complete end to pig farming in the state, citing its environmental impact and Selangor’s demographic make-up.
He also urged the government to issue additional licences to import pork to meet the needs of non-Malays in the state.
Earlier today, Selangor PAS Youth chief Sukri Omar called for Wong, of DAP, to be suspended from the state assembly for up to 12 months if her proposal contradicted the sultan’s demands.
He said Wong’s proposal disrespected the monarchy, as the core issue was not the technology, but the ruler’s demand that there would be no more pig farming in Selangor.
