Police are hunting down a man suspected of committing an extreme act of lewdness near the entrance of a public university here recently.

In a statement today, Dungun acting police chief Jumaidy Bah said his department received a report regarding the incident at 12.30pm yesterday.

He said initial investigations found that the man was riding a motorcycle and exposed his genitals to a female student waiting near the university entrance, before fleeing.

According to Jumaidy, the police have also detected a viral video believed to be related to the same incident and are looking for witnesses to assist them in the investigation.

“The police view this incident seriously and will take strict action against any immoral behaviour that disrupts public safety,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code.

He urged members of the public with information on the case to contact the Dungun police headquarters or any nearby police station.
