PETALING JAYA: Statements have been recorded from 22 witnesses, including ministers and senior government officials, in an investigation into allegations of corruption in a RM1.1 billion investment deal involving UK-based chip maker Arm Holdings, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission said today.
MACC confirmed that former economy minister Rafizi Ramli will be called to give his statement on Monday. Senior director of investigations Hafaz Nazar said Rafizi is scheduled to appear at MACC headquarters at 10am to assist in the investigation.
The case concerns a strategic partnership agreement in the semiconductor industry between the economy ministry and Arm Holdings and involves allegations of abuse of power and misappropriation of funds.
Rafizi’s former assistant, James Chai was interviewed by MACC for three days this week.
