Party president Pandikar Amin Mulia said those suspended were deputy president Ibrahim Linggam, Ahmad Kanajaan, Hussin Ibnu Hassan, Hafeiz Hussin, Sazali Justi and Sallehudin Kasau.

In a Borneo Post report, Pandikar said the suspensions were temporary pending investigations by the party’s disciplinary board into alleged breaches of discipline and the party constitution.

He said the action was taken under a clause in the party’s constitution that empowers the president to suspend members deemed to be affecting party stability.

Those involved would be required to provide statements.

“The move is important to prevent the party from descending into chaos and to ensure the investigation process can be carried out in an orderly manner,” he said.

He also said several individuals appointed as Supreme Council members for the 2025–2028 term had been removed.

Those affected are Abdul Lalih Abah, Dr Masjidin Moksan, Dayang Norasiken Nonoi, Jamri Sabu, Rusulan Rahaban and Edmund Doudilim.

Pandikar said the removals were carried out under provisions that allowed the president to appoint and terminate positions within the party’s leadership structure.

“The decision was made following actions … which affected party stability,” he said.

“All office-bearers have a responsibility to uphold party unity and not act in ways that cause division.”

He added that the Supreme Council would be reorganised to ensure the party continued to function effectively, with further action to be determined after a full report from the disciplinary board.

The latest developments come amid a widening rift within the party following its decision to leave Gabungan Rakyat Sabah.

Yesterday, Ibrahim accused Pandikar of unilaterally deciding to pull the party out of the ruling coalition led by chief minister Hajiji Noor, claiming most Supreme Council members opposed the move.

He also claimed a Supreme Council meeting had been called on May 6 to take action against those who defy Pandikar’s leadership.
