Kota Bharu police chief Azmir Damiri said the victim, who worked in Pasir Gudang, Johor, had reportedly returned to his hometown for a holiday on May 16.
“According to the victim’s aunt, she noticed blood on the bathroom floor before discovering him with a knife in his hand.
“Police found two stab wounds on the man’s chin, one on the neck and another on the abdomen. However, no signs of struggle or foul play were found at the scene,” Bernama reported him as saying.
Azmir said the victim had no history of illness, but was believed to have abused drugs over the past year after beginning work in Johor.
The body was taken to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for a post-mortem, and the case has been classified as sudden death.
