Acting Johor police chief Hoo Chuan Huat said the suspects, aged 17 to 45, were arrested in Masai and Mersing on Tuesday.
“Their arrests followed a police investigation after the victim’s car was found in Masai. All of them have been remanded until May 26,” Sinar Harian reported him as saying at the Iskandar Puteri police headquarters today.
He said stab wounds were found on the victim’s body. He did not rule out further arrests.
Separately, Hoo said police have arrested six men to assist in an investigation into the death of a man found lying in a pool of blood outside a restaurant in Pekan Nanas, Pontian, early yesterday.
Hoo said the arrests were made from early this morning at several locations around Johor Bahru.
“The motive for the murder is still being investigated,” he said.
