JOHOR BAHRU:
Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) distribution of seats among its components for the upcoming state election in Johor is about 80% finalised, says state chairman Dr Sahruddin Jamal.

The former menteri besar said discussions on the remaining 20% of seats involved the Malaysian Indian People’s Party (MIPP) and other parties under proposed electoral pacts, including Muda and Ikatan Prihatin Rakyat.

“The seat allocation is still being finalised, but about 80% has been completed. As announced yesterday, PN will contest all 56 state seats,” the Johor Bersatu chief told Bernama.

Sahruddin said PN has also mobilised the election machinery of all four component parties – Bersatu, PAS, Gerakan, and MIPP – in preparation for the polls.

Yesterday, menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced the dissolution of the Johor assembly, paving the way for the 16th state election to be held within 60 days.
