Online travel site Kayak has created a virtual escape guide aimed at helping restless travellers plan for their next getaway, when the travel industry eventually gets back on its feet.
While the world waits out the worst of the pandemic sheltering in place at home, travellers are being urged to use the time to research and plan for their next vacation.
Kayak has launched an online hub specifically for quarantined travellers; the platform includes virtual city guides for popular destinations like Paris, London and Amsterdam, a dedicated page for aspirational travel content along with family-friendly activities like travel-inspired colouring pages and quizzes for the youngest globetrotters out there.
The virtual vacations page recreates complete itineraries for travellers, with morning, afternoon and evening excursions that include playlists to set the mood, virtual tours of landmarks like the Louvre, the Palace of Versailles and the Paris Catacombs and a river cruise at night.
Kayak also offers tips on how to use the down time to prepare for your next vacation: learn the language, refresh your photography skills and nail down a budget.
