True to its name – “amici”, which means friends in Italian – the restaurant exudes a sense of warmth, making diners feel right at home.
Inside, the space feels inviting, with neatly set tables and soft, golden lighting that add an intimate charm. A wood-fired oven glows gently in the background, casting a subtle orange hue that adds to the ambiance.
Here, patrons can look forward to a range of scrumptious offerings, from hearty pastas to freshly made pizzas and decadent desserts.
The menu is shaped by one of the restaurant’s founders, Chef Romeo Antonio from Italy. Born and raised in the picturesque region of Calabria, Antonio spent much of his time in his “nonna’s” kitchen growing up.
There, surrounded by the tantalising aroma of simmering tomato sauces and freshly baked focaccia, Antonio discovered not only the art of cooking – but the heart of Italian hospitality.

Today, at Amici Ristorante Italiano, those traditions continue, with dishes prepared much like how Antonio’s grandmother once made them.
While alcohol is served, Abdul Hamid Alias, a chef at the restaurant, shared that no liquor is used in the cooking.
“We hope that when customers taste our food, they will come back for more,” Hamid, 53, added with a smile.
And indeed, the food doesn’t disappoint.
Take one bite of the Amici Special Pizza and you might just find yourself sighing with delight. The crispy and airy crust carries a gentle hint of smokiness from the wood-fired oven.
The pizza is topped generously with rich tomato sauce, sweet cherry tomatoes, peppery rocket leaves and melted mozzarella. The cannellini beans and crushed pistachios sprinkled on top lend a pleasant crunch.

At the centre sits a generous portion of soft Italian cow’s milk cheese called burrata. Its delicate outer layer gives way to a creamy interior that oozes gently when cut, adding a luscious richness to every slice.
The pizza is served with a piquant chili sauce. Made from red and green chilies, along with fiery bird’s eye chilles, it adds a kick to each bite.
The Pasta Linguine Amici is generously loaded with fresh tiger prawns, calamari, New Zealand green mussels and clams, crab and squid. Tossed in a flavourful puttanesca sauce with olives and cherry tomatoes, the pasta arrives wrapped in foil that seals in the heat.
Perfect for sharing between two – or indulging in solo if you’re especially famished – the dish can also be prepared with any pasta of your choice such as fettuccine, penne or spaghetti.

In the mood for chicken? The Cordon Bleu features tender chicken breast, lightly breaded to a crisp golden finish and stuffed with chicken ham and mozzarella cheese.
It comes served with crispy fries and a spicy arrabiata sauce, which brings a tangy kick that complements the richness of the dish.
Don’t miss trying the affogato – hot Lavazza espresso poured over creamy vanilla gelato, melting into a bittersweet, velvety treat that’s both refreshing and indulgent.

Alternatively, other dessert options include tiramisu, chocolate lava cake, panna cotta and gelato.
Overall, a meal at Amici Ristorante Italiano feels like more than just dining out – it’s an experience that invites you to linger a little longer, savour each moment and plan your return visit.
