Penang reclamation will be scrapped if PN takes over, says Lau

The Gerakan president says PN won't allow 'even one island to take off'.

GEORGE TOWN:
The Penang South Island project will be scrapped if PN wins big and forms the next state government, says Penang PN chief Dominic Lau.

“If PN is given the mandate in the state elections, God-willing we will cancel the reclamation projects. We will not allow even one island to take off,” he told reporters at a fishermen’s unit in Bayan Lepas.

The Gerakan president said, instead of reclamation, PN’s focus would be developing eco-tourism at fishing villages.
