PETALING JAYA: Caretaker Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari says the state government has no intention of listing polling day on Aug 12 as a special public holiday.
Amirudin told reporters yesterday that the decision was made to avoid causing any unnecessary disturbance to the private sector and getting blamed for “pleasing voters.”
He also said the polling date was announced a month ago, giving voters ample time to take leave if needed.
