It was an opportune moment to dispel rumours that have plagued the party since the passing of spiritual leader Tok Guru Nik Aziz.
The Islamic party has had to counter negative perceptions that PAS leader Abdul Hadi Awang was against the Chinese, especially with the party’s move to implement hudud by way of a private member’s bill.
PAS has remained adamant that its cause was to uphold Islam and that the party welcomed all Malaysians of the Islamic faith.
