PETALING JAYA: Jelebu MP Zainudin Ismail has been reported to have been rushed to hospital after collapsing at his home in Kuala Klawang today.

According to The Star, Zainudin was initially rushed to the Jelebu Hospital but was later moved to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL).

Quoting the MP’s aide, The Star reported that Zainudin had regained consciousness. However, the aide did not disclose why the MP collapsed.

During the last general election, Zainudin stood as the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate in Jelebu, which had previously been former minister Rais Yatim’s constituency.

He won against PAS’ candidate Raj Munni Sabu with a 7,101-vote majority.

Meanwhile, Bernama reported Jelebu Umno Division chief Jalaluddin Alias as saying he was informed by doctors that a computed tomography (CT) scan showed what might be a growth in the brain.

“The hospital will conduct a surgery. He is still in the Intensive Care Unit,” he said.

Jalaluddin said Zainudin was seen to be unwell of late, probably due to pressure of work as an elected representative.

He advised all quarters against making any kind of speculation.
