PETALING JAYA:
Penang Gerakan remains on track despite its now former Chairman Teng Chang Yeow’s resignation from the party’s Central Committee, says party President Mah Siew Keong.

Mah today confirmed that he has accepted Teng’s resignation “in good faith” and that Teng will be on six months’ leave as Penang Gerakan State Liaison Committee Chairman effective May 15-Nov 15, 2016.

Teng will be replaced by Penang Gerakan Vice-Chairman Oh Tong Keong as the acting state chairman.

“Saudara Oh paid a courtesy visit to me this afternoon upon his election as acting state chairman,” said Mah in a statement today.

“We had a deep and meaningful discussion on recent changes in Penang Gerakan.

“I am confident that Saudara Oh will continue to keep Penang Gerakan on its progressive track and prepare for the next general election.”

The replacement for the Central Committee will be discussed next week, said Mah.
