KUALA LUMPUR:
New LRT services to Subang Jaya, Puchong and Putra Heights on the Kelana Jaya and Ampang line will begin on Thursday, light rail operator Prasarana announced yesterday.

Zohari Sulaiman, chief executive of Prasarana Rail and Infrastructure Projects Sdn Bhd, said services on the extensions to the two lines would begin as scheduled.

Feeder bus services would be provided every 10-15 minutes along 10 routes between Lembah Subang and Putra Heights, he said yesterday.

However only temporary car parks would be available at Subang Jaya and USJ 7, to be provided within two months, until permanent car parks are built in a property development with adjacent land owners, he said.

The extensions provide 13 new stations from Kelana Jaya to Putra Heights, where there will be an integrated station to join both lines.

Kelana Jaya Line (from Kelana Jaya): Lembah Subang; Ara Damansara; Glenmarie; Subang Jaya; SS15; SS18; USJ 7; Taipan; Wawasan; USJ 21; Alam Megah; Subang Alam; Putra Heights Integrated Station.

The extension covers 17.4km, bringing the total length of the Kelana Jaya line to 46.4km.

The Ampang line will have 12 new stations on the 18.1km extension, which takes the total length of the Ampang line to 45.1 km.

Ampang Line (from Sri Petaling): Putra Heights Integrated Station; Kinrara; Puchong Prima; Puchong Perdana; Bandar Puteri; Taman Perindustrian Puchong; Pusat Bandar Puchong; IOI Puchong Jaya; Kinara BK 5; Alam Sutera; Mihibbah; Awan Besar, Putra Heights.

Prasarana said on Saturday that the architects had issued the certificates of completion and compliance and support letters had been received from various agencies.

Zohari was responding to Subang Jaya municipal council Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan who said on Friday that the council had not approved the CCC because of the lack of parking facilities.

Prasarana said however that the council’s one-stop centre had confirmed that the CCC could be submitted on Monday, completing the process.

Zohari said the car parks at the Subang Jaya and USJ 7 stations were not included in the approved building plan and were not part of the CCC submission because parking facilities would be part of a larger property development with adjacent landowners.

Temporary parking facilities would be provided as an interim measure, he said.

He said Prasarana was holding discussions with Sime Darby, master developer of USJ Subang Jaya, to provide space for temporary parking.

Prasarana had already provided more than 2,200 car park bays along the Kelana Jaya extension, he said.
