The sacking of Chegubard, who is also the coordinator of Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (SAMM), was made known today following an image of a letter uploaded on his Facebook page.
PKR Secretary-General Rafizi Ramli, in the letter, told Chegubard the decision to sack him was made during the party’s Disciplinary Board Committee meeting on Aug 4.
“With this sacking, you are hereby relieved of all posts held in the name of the party and are not allowed to conduct any activities under the party or make any statements in the party’s name,” the letter said.
The letter did not indicate Chegubard’s wrongdoings that led to the sacking.
However, Chegubard was previously slammed for alleging there were wrongdoings committed by the administration of Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali, who is also PKR deputy president.
Chegubard had also faced suspension after claiming there were elements of cheating in PKR’s 2014 party elections, which he also alleged were not transparent.
Responding to his sacking, Chegubard implied he had access to internal party information.
“What is the difference between PKR and Umno when exposing wrongdoings and corruption is considered a crime?” he asked on his Facebook page.
He also likened his position in the party previously as one who was privy to internal information and said, “Remember, I was sitting under the mosquito net (kelambu) of PKR and not just in the living room.
“I received an email this morning after I rejected last night’s final persuasion.”
Chegubard has 14 days to submit an appeal against his sacking to PKR’s Central Leadership Council.
