PETALING JAYA:
Sacked PAS Vice-President Husam Musa will put on a new political jersey but the party he plans to join will only be revealed tomorrow.

The announcement was made in a posting on his Facebook page today.

Husam said he had waited almost four months to see if PAS would consider taking him back.

However, this did not happen.

“My explanation letter to the PAS president (Abdul Hadi Awang) does not seem to have mattered.

“(So) I’ve enjoyed this calm period and, at the same time, met with members of the public to obtain their input,” wrote the Salor state assemblyman.

Husam was sacked from PAS in May for being a vocal critic of the party and its leadership. His barbs were particularly aimed at the Islamist party’s president, urging him to give way to other party leaders.

Husam said while the country appears to be in a much more critical condition than it was before, the state under PAS’ administration, Kelantan, doesn’t seem to be doing any better.

“To remain silent is not an option. To stand alone is also not an option.

“I have reached a decision — that the fight for Islam does not belong to just one party.

“So tomorrow, in Cyberjaya, as a dinner guest organised by an organisation, I wish to end my wait. And announce the new party of my choice.”

PAS’ splinter party, Amanah, is holding a dinner function featuring Husam tomorrow night. It is expected that this is the party he will now be a member of.
