“An emergency call was received at 6.45pm. The Ampang Hospital ambulance personnel who arrived at the scene confirmed that the boy from Sabah had died of head injuries sustained from the fall,” said Ampang Jaya deputy police chief Supt Mohd Zaid Hassan today.
He said initial investigations revealed the boy and his 10-year-old sister were being taken care of by their aunt as their parents had gone to work.
“During the incident, the boy was believed to be playing on the balcony with his sister before he attempted to climb the balcony railings and fell,” said Zaid.
He said the case was classified as sudden death and the victim’s body had been sent to the Ampang Hospital for a post-mortem.
