KOTA KINABALU: Sabah police are seeking state Barisan Nasional chairman Musa Aman to assist in investigations into alleged criminal intimidation against the head of state, Juhar Mahiruddin.
Speaking to reporters after a police event here today, Sabah police chief Ramli Din said they believed Musa was not currently in Kota Kinabalu. He added that they were trying to get his statement as soon as possible.
“So far, we have recorded nine statements from witnesses, and efforts are being made to get Musa’s statement.
“The head of state already gave his statement after lodging the police report on May 14.”
Ramli said the case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
He said no arrest warrant had been issued against Musa as there was still a lot of paperwork to be done.
“We are confident of finding him soon. That is the only thing we need now, plus some paperwork. Once that is done, we can send it to the deputy public prosecutor’s office for further action,” he said.
