KOTA KINABALU: PPBM Youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman says he is ready to assist in PKR president-elect Anwar Ibrahim’s campaign in the Port Dickson by-election to ensure a big victory for Pakatan Harapan.
“Prior to the 14th general election and as a member of the Pakatan Harapan presidential council, I am aware of the written agreement on the transition of power from Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to Anwar. And this was agreed to by all parties.
“As a young man, I do not want to break a promise, especially one that is in black and white and of paramount importance to PH’s win,” he said after attending a progamme here today.
He also denied that there was a movement within Port Dickson PPBM Youth to boycott Anwar’s campaign in the by-election.
PKR’s incumbent Port Dickson MP Danyal Balagopal Abdullah, vacated his seat to enable Anwar, who is poised to succeed Dr Mahathir as Malaysia’s eighth prime minister, to contest the seat and make a comeback to Parliament if he wins.
