PETALING JAYA:
Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin today announced her decision to join PPBM after five months as an independent.

The former Puteri Umno chief said she made the decision after thinking long and hard about the matter.

“I always want the best for my voters, and I am always looking for more effective solutions to protect their interests.

“On this basis, after thinking deeply about it, I have decided to join PPBM,” she said in a statement.

She also posted a photo on Facebook, which showed her handing over her membership form to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is also PPBM chairman.

Mas Ermieyati left Umno on July 1.

In her statement today, she said she hoped to help PPBM’s efforts to empower young women and fight for a better life for the youth.

“I also hope for a brighter future for Malaysia,” she said.

She expressed gratitude to all her partners in Masjid Tanah, Melaka, from the grassroots level to the national level, as well as those who had helped her in her service as an MP.

“I believe that this is the best way in a multiracial Malaysia.

“It is my hope that the new Malaysia will create a more mature and inclusive political culture, aside from prioritising good governance and integrity.

“It is now time for all quarters, regardless of political beliefs, to find a common ground in the interest of the rakyat,” she said.
