PETALING JAYA:
Anwar Ibrahim today declared assets worth over RM10 million to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

In a brief statement, Anwar’s private secretary Shukri Saad said the PKR president declared that his house in Bukit Segambut, Kuala Lumpur, is worth RM9.5 million.

The house was bought at RM4.5 million with the proceeds Anwar received from the sale of his previous residence in Bukit Damansara in 2005.

He also declared that he owned a plot of land in Permatang Habib, Mukim Penor in Kuantan.

This land was purchased in 1974 for RM7,000, and is now estimated to be worth RM420,000.

“The remainder of his assets come from his investment accounts and savings amounting to RM828,658.83.

“This brings the value of Anwar’s total assets to RM10,748,658.83,” the statement added.

In December, MACC said that Anwar was among the Pakatan Harapan leaders who had yet to declare his assets.
