Yee told reporters here today that the state assistant education and innovation minister should know by now that it is the duty and responsibility of an elected representative to serve and help the people diligently.
This was the reason people had voted for them, he said.
“For an elected representative to complain on social media that she is getting sick and tired of people, especially parents, seeking her help for their unemployed children, is unbecoming.
“It’s unacceptable behaviour from a person who has taken an oath to serve and help the rakyat,” he said.

Yee said he would not be surprised if Lasimbang’s voters feel insulted by the statement and disappointed with her attitude towards her responsibilities.
If she is unwilling or unable to carry her duties effectively, Yee said there were others ready and willing to serve the people sincerely.
The former Api Api assemblyman said when he was an elected representative, he served the people willingly without complaining as this was what was expected from an elected representative.
Yee told reporters that previously, when he served as the deputy chief minister and as the state resource development and information technology minister, he had set up the Sabah Job Centre to help unemployed graduates.
The centre also provided free skills training, that covered ICT and language courses, to assist the unemployed and also to enhance the skills of those employed.
The resource development and information technology ministry was later rebranded as the education and innovation ministry.

“I am disappointed to see that Lasimbang has failed to use the resources available at her ministry to assist unemployed graduates and instead she has chosen to insult on social media those who seek her help,” he said.
Yee also reminded all elected representatives to focus on serving the people and to stop politicking.
Lasimbang has defended her post and said she had organised three trade fairs to find jobs for the unemployed. She said a new job fair was going on now.
“My job is to create jobs. Yes, I have shown the people many paths to find jobs. But some still want me to find jobs for them. Do you think this is the right thing to do?”
She later uploaded a new post, thanking her followers for the positive comments and constructive criticism, as well as the personal attacks.
“I receive all with an open heart. The purpose of the posting was to open the minds and hearts towards this worrying issue and I am genuinely concerned for our future generations,” she said.
