PETALING JAYA: Rather than taking it easy on a Saturday morning, nonagenarian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad chose to ride 11km from Putrajaya to Cyberjaya and back.
A 24-second-long video posted on YouTube by Chedet showed him in a bicycle helmet, short-sleeved T-shirt and track bottoms cycling with a group of other cyclists behind him.
Mahathir was seen in a jovial mood and flashed his trademark smile at passers-by who were caught off-guard seeing the prime minister cycling.
A spokesperson from the Prime Minister’s Office told FMT that Mahathir covered the distance in 45 minutes.
A few weeks ago, the prime minister had been spotted riding a tandem bicycle with others around Putrajaya.
Mahathir has repeatedly stressed on eating healthy food and leading a healthy lifestyle.
