He said the Pakatan Harapan government was giving the state a lot more than the BN administration ever did.
The PH government is giving priority to Sabah and Sarawak, he added.
“I hope they will be considerate that the (previous) government has never given them so much before.
“Previously, they could be happy even though they did not receive much. Now that there are getting more, why are they not satisfied?” he said to reporters at Parliament today.
He was asked on Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) president Sim Kui Hian saying that although there was an increase in financial grants to the state, PH had failed to keep its promise of allocating 30% of the development expenditure to Sabah and Sarawak.
Lim announced yesterday that Sabah and Sarawak would receive RM5.2 billion and RM4.4 billion respectively in development expenditure next year.
This comes to about 17% of the total development expenditure of RM56 billion.
In addition, Lim had said the special grants under Article 112D of the Federal Constitution, which had not been reviewed since 1969, would be doubled to RM53.4 million for Sabah and RM32 million for Sarawak next year.
The government plans to double the rate again to RM106.8 million for Sabah and RM64 million for Sarawak within five years.
“It is difficult to satisfy their wishes. They always say they are not satisfied even though we have allocated more,” Lim said.
He said if Sabah and Sarawak are not happy despite getting the highest allocation, than “other states will also not be happy”.
“They have never received such an allocation from BN. Now they get more and they are still not satisfied.
“(Does that mean) that when the allocation is not increased, they are happy but when it is increased they are not happy?”
