PUTRAJAYA: Police today questioned an activist over a Facebook posting on alleged mistreatment of refugees at the immigration detention centres.
Refuge For The Refugees director, Heidy Quah, spent about two hours at the Putrajaya district police headquarters, according to her lawyer New Sin Yew.
Quah later told reporters that she had surrendered her mobile phone to the police and would give her full cooperation in the investigation.
The investigation followed a police report by the Immigration Department, and is being carried out under Section 500 of the Penal Code for defamation and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 related to improper use of network facilities.
