
If it was true that PN was not officially registered yet, he said the Election Commission (EC) should take immediate action by cancelling the candidacies of everyone contesting under the coalition’s ticket in the Sabah state election.
“Elections are an important platform for the people to practise their rights as citizens. They have the right to choose candidates from parties that are legal according to the law.
“If the candidates representing an illegal organisation are allowed to contest, that will be an insult to the parliamentary democracy system in Malaysia and also the people of Sabah,” he said in a statement today.
PN will be contesting 29 seats in the Sabah state election, represented by its component parties PPBM, STAR and SAPP.
