PETALING JAYA:
PAS will seek an explanation from Umno, through Muafakat Nasional (MN), on its move to consider withdrawing from Perikatan Nasional (PN).

PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man is, however, confident that any internal issue can be solved.

“This would be done through discussions with all parties involved,” he told FMT today.

Tuan Ibrahim was responding to Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan’s announcement yesterday that the party was considering withdrawing its support for PN and had set some new conditions for the government for continued political cooperation.

Ahmad was reported as saying that Umno’s new conditions would be brought up in a meeting with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, scheduled for today. However, he did not provide details of the meeting.
