Sabah PKR Youth information chief Razeef Rakimin said Muhyiddin did not have any solid plan to curb the spread of the virus, adding that the prime minister could only make national addresses that did not benefit the people.
“The worst-hit state is, of course, Sabah, with 4,860 new cases recorded in the last 17 days, or 58% of total cases in Malaysia, while also reporting 40 deaths so far.
“The reality is that this spike in cases is caused by the state elections and many new clusters only existed in September. Although these clusters have been given various names, they’re all caused by the state elections,” he said in a statement.

Razeef said the state polls were held following Perikatan Nasional’s attempt to take over the state government, with secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin the “executor”.
“When the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government was doing well in managing Covid-19, Muhyiddin was busy trying to topple the government, leading to the spike in cases even to this day.
“Besides that, when the Sabah government was working hard to stop the spread of the virus in the state, PN, through Hamzah, was busy trying to attract assemblymen for the purpose of topping the Warisan Plus led government,” he said.
He urged the prime minister and also Hamzah, who is also home minister, to take full responsibility for the spike in cases and resign from their positions.
“Malaysia needs a prime minister who can lead, not a ‘daddy’ who only knows how to make national addresses,” he said.
