Its chairman, Douglas Uggah Embas, said information such as dates and locations where Covid-19 patients were present will enhance the effectiveness of contact tracing and testing.
“Currently, we only disclose general information about locations where a confirmed case had visited but there was no date or time given. Hence, it is difficult for the public to identify themselves if they have come into close contact or possibly been exposed to a Covid-19 case.
“By disclosing detailed information, we hope more people will come forward for testing if they happened to be at the same location and time with a Covid-19 patient,” he said at a press conference today.

Uggah added that the state government has decided to pay for quarantine costs and Covid-19 swab tests for children aged three and above, born outside the state to Sarawakian parents.
“We also agreed to bear the costs for non-Sarawakians, whose spouse is a Sarawakian. But, they are required to provide their marriage certificate as proof,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sarawak recorded 13 new Covid-19 cases today, including 10 imported cases, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 1,161, with 19 deaths recorded so far.
