KUCHING:
Julau MP Larry Sng resigned as the Sarawak PKR chairman on Friday.

Kuching PKR branch chairman Dominique Ng said party members had been informed about this through a statement issued by the party’s state secretary, Joshua Jabeng.

“But we are not sure if he is also leaving the party.

“We will wait for his (Sng) announcement,” he said when contacted.

Ng said Sng had announced his decision to step down during a video conference with the state leadership council on Friday.

In December last year, Sng had announced that he would step down as the state PKR chairman as it was in the best interests of the party to be led by a Dayak leader going into the 12th state election.

However, he decided to remain as interim chairman days later after meeting party president Anwar Ibrahim.

He took over as Sarawak PKR chairman after Selangau MP Baru Bian quit the party last year.

Attempts by FMT to contact Sng have been unsuccessful.
