
This follows the health ministry reporting a spike in cases involving clusters in the district, with high infection rates.
The health ministry said there was a total of 177 positive Covid-19 cases involving 15 villages in the district as at Feb 28.
In a statement, Ismail also said the Felda Jengka 1, Felda Jengka 2, Felda Jengka 7 and Felda Ulu, all in Jempol, Maran, Pahang will go under an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) starting from tomorrow until March 15.
There are 46 positive Covid-19 cases recorded from the cluster so far.
Meanwhile, on the status of other areas under lockdown, he said the EMCO affecting two localities in Sarawak and one in Melaka will end tomorrow.
The localities are the Sg Udang Prison and staff quarters in Melaka Tengah, Melaka, and Kampung Sg Maong, Kuching and Taman Univista, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak.
The decision was made following risk analysis by the health ministry.
Speaking on arrests, he said 611 individuals were arrested yesterday for breaching various standard operating procedures.
Of the number, 584 were given compounds and 27 were remanded.
Among the offences were flouting physical distancing rules (169), failure to prepare materials to record customers’ details (122), crossing state or district borders without permission (91), failure to wear face mask (90), sports activities (40), activities at entertainment outlets (32), premises operating beyond the permitted opening hours/ despite not being allowed to operate (30), leaving the house without legitimate reasons (25), and others (12).
There were also 47 illegal immigrants arrested by enforcement authorities under Op Benteng, with one boat/ship and eight vehicles seized.
