Lift roadblocks in Selangor and KL, says Yeoh

The Segambut MP says roadblocks at the Jalan Duta, Damansara and Bukit Jelutong toll plazas are meaningless as inter-district travel is now allowed.

Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh says roadblocks at CMCO areas are leading to traffic congestion.
PETALING JAYA:
Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh has asked the National Security Council (MKN) to consider lifting roadblocks set up around Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

She said both Selangor and Kuala Lumpur were no longer under a full movement control order (MCO) and the roadblocks had led to traffic congestion when people just wanted to go to work or send their children to school.

“For example, the roadblocks at the Jalan Duta, Damansara and Bukit Jelutong toll plazas are meaningless because inter-district travel has already been allowed.

“I also pity the policemen and army personnel who have to stay under the intense heat. Yesterday, temperatures rose to 44 degrees Celsius,” she said in a Facebook post.

Selangor and Kuala Lumpur transitioned from an MCO to a conditional MCO last Friday, with inter-district travel allowed within states and federal territories.

Interstate travel is still banned nationwide, except for tourism activities in states under the recovery MCO.
