A source who knew of the meeting said the BN communications division has been informed of the matter.
The reason for the cancellation is not known but it is learnt that some of the top coalition leaders could not show up for the meeting.
Earlier, the BN communications division had told FMT that all the invited parties were attending. BN consists of Umno, MCA, MIC and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah.
“If there are any changes they would inform us,” the representative said then.
It is learnt that MIC President S Vigneswaran had earlier opted out of the meeting as he was feeling under the weather.
The meeting was supposed to have been held among Umno, MCA and MIC to discuss several issues that had arisen recently.
Both MCA and MIC have said they will remain with the BN coalition but have thrown their support behind Perikatan Nasional, stating they back Muhyiddin Yassin as the prime minister.
However, Umno has indicated that it may leave the PN-led government by August when the emergency is lifted.
