
This comes after a report last month which said the Sim Leisure Group intends to build a theme park called “ESCAPE Cameron Highlands.”
The report claimed that the construction of the proposed ski-themed park on a 60-acre site in Cameron Highlands has been rejected by the authorities as they feared it may have a serious impact on the environment.
“There was no such application made in the first place nor was it discussed in any government meeting. You can ask the state secretary and the exco members.
“Even if it is private land, owners must get the approval from the state government to build a theme park,” he said, adding that developers should submit applications for approval before embarking on any large-scale project.
Wan Rosdy was commenting on a call by NGOs urging the Pahang government to reject the theme park plan.
