PAS to woo non-Muslim fence-sitters too, says Hadi

The PAS president quotes the example of DAP fielding an Indian candidate in a Chinese-majority area to show what PAS could do.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang also urged the party’s leaders and members to foster cooperation with more Malay groups and non-Muslim NGOs.
ALOR SETAR:
PAS said it would tap into their “intelligence” to woo non-Muslims, especially voters who might be on the fence in the coming general election.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said the Islamic party has broken the “racial wall” through its non-Muslim supporters’ wing.

“If DAP can field an Indian candidate in a Chinese-majority area, why can’t we get a Chinese voter to support us during the general election,” he said in his closing speech at the party’s muktamar.

Hadi also called on PAS leaders and members to not dress down their foes, while urging them to foster cooperation with more Malay groups and non-Muslim NGOs.

“Let us find non-Muslim parties and NGOs, but don’t look for those that bicker with us. That way, Islam can remain supreme and in power.

“We also want non-extreme Malay parties to join us in bringing change,” he said.
