The former Johor menteri besar said the candidate selection process for the constituency is still ongoing, according to Bernama.
“At the moment, the Pasir Gudang Umno division has put forward my name and several others, so I will leave it to the party leadership to decide.
“Umno is still in the process of finalising its candidates,” he told reporters after officiating the Pasir Gudang Umno division meeting today.
Besides Pasir Gudang, Khaled was also reportedly named as one of Barisan Nasional’s candidates for the Kota Tinggi parliamentary seat.
In the last general election (GE14), Khaled lost in the contest for the Pasir Gudang parliamentary seat in a four-cornered fight to PKR’s Hassan Abdul Karim, who won with a majority of 24,726 votes.
